The Physics of Barrel Racing
The first thing our group did towards the project was to writing the script and outline for the video, because we couldn't film the horse racing right away. we cut out pieces of paper and drew roughly what would go on there with some idea of what we were going to say on it, then ordered them in oder of scenes. after we finished the storyboard we wrote the script, which took about a day. It took about a week before our group could film the video of the horse barrel racing, which set us back quite a lot. after that we had to film the interviews and edit all of it, which we were doing right up until the deadline, because only one person in the group knew how to edit. despite these setbacks we still got the video out, although it could use some polishing up in certian areas I think we did pretty good.
Concepts
Velocity-speed with a direction
Projectile motion- horizontal and vertical motion
Impact forces-MassXVelocity over time
Acceleration-Acceleration is the change in velocity over the change in time.
Momentum- force an object exerts at a certian velocity.
Reflection
I believe that my group worked well together, although at the beginning of the project we were debating about choosing barrel-racing or water polo, and I wasn't too thrilled about either, but after learning about barrel-racing ant the skill it takes to do it I had a new found respect for the sport. One skill I learned was how to edit videos on a P.C. one thing that was challenging for our group was planning, while we knew everything we had to do and had it planned out, we couldn't film most of it until a week later.
